Army Commander calls on Nagaland Governor

Kohima, July 4: Eastern Army Commander Lieutenant General V.M.B. Krishnan called on Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav and discussed issues relating to peace, security and civil-military cooperation in the state.

During the meeting, the two reviewed the prevailing security scenario and exchanged views on measures to further strengthen peace, stability and coordination between the Armed Forces and the civil administration.
The discussions also focused on enhancing military-civil fusion to support developmental initiatives, improve public outreach and strengthen cooperation in areas such as disaster response, infrastructure development and community welfare.
Lieutenant General Krishnan reaffirmed the Indian Army's commitment to working closely with the state administration in maintaining peace and security while contributing to the socio-economic development of Nagaland through various civic action programmes.
Governor Nand Kishore Yadav appreciated the role of the Indian Army in safeguarding national security and promoting harmony in the region. He emphasised the importance of sustained cooperation between the Armed Forces and civil authorities to ensure lasting peace and inclusive development.
The meeting concluded with both sides reiterating their commitment to strengthening coordination and fostering a secure, peaceful and development-oriented environment in Nagaland.
