Imphal, Sep 5: Formations under the Spear Corps marked Teachers’ Day by celebrating the invaluable contribution of educators and highlighting their role in shaping the future of young generations across the Northeast.

Commemorative programmes were organised at several locations in Manipur, Assam and Nagaland, bringing together teachers, students, local communities and security personnel. The events marked the 138th birth anniversary of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, whose contribution to education and public life continues to inspire generations.
In Manipur, programmes were held across Senapati, Noney, Tamenglong, Imphal West, Ukhrul, Kakching and Chandel, featuring floral tributes, cultural performances, painting competitions and felicitation of teachers. The activities provided students an opportunity to express their gratitude towards educators while showcasing their creativity and talent.
A similar programme was organised at Lokra in Assam, reinforcing the importance of education and community participation in nurturing young minds.
In Nagaland, Teachers’ Day celebrations were held at Jalukie, Pungro, Anatongre, Naginimora and Shamator. Alongside felicitating teachers, the programmes focused on student welfare and youth development through the distribution of sports equipment and stationery. A student sanitation block was also inaugurated, adding a practical dimension to the educational support initiatives.
The celebrations reflected the broader commitment of security forces to supporting education, encouraging extracurricular activities and creating a positive environment for children and youth in remote and underserved areas.
Through such initiatives, the Spear Corps continues to strengthen its engagement with local communities, while promoting quality education, youth empowerment, creativity and holistic development.
