July 03, 2026 | BK News Service

Rupai (Assam), July 2: Marking National Doctors' Day, the Indian Army's Red Shield Division under Spear Corps organised a special outreach programme titled "A Day with Army Doctor" for 30 school students at Rupai in Assam, aimed at promoting health awareness, emergency preparedness and community service among young learners.

The programme featured an interactive lecture-cum-demonstration conducted by Army medical officers, who introduced students to the fundamentals of Basic Life Saving Skills (BLS). Through practical demonstrations, participants learned essential emergency response techniques, including how to respond during medical emergencies, provide first aid and assist victims before professional medical help arrives.
Army doctors also highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition, regular physical activity, personal hygiene and preventive healthcare. Students were encouraged to adopt healthy habits from an early age and become responsible citizens capable of contributing to the well-being of their communities.
The interactive session allowed students to engage directly with Army medical professionals, ask questions and gain practical knowledge about emergency care, creating greater awareness about the vital role doctors play in saving lives both during peace and in times of crisis.
The initiative formed part of the Indian Army's ongoing civic outreach efforts to strengthen ties with local communities while empowering young people with life-saving knowledge and essential health awareness.
Students and teachers appreciated the programme, describing it as informative and inspiring. They thanked the Army for providing valuable training that could help save lives during emergencies and motivate students to serve society with compassion and responsibility.
