Guwahati, Aug 6: In an effort to strengthen civil-military relations and inspire the younger generation, formations under the Spear Corps organised 'A Day with Company Commander' outreach programmes in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, providing students and local youth with a first-hand experience of Army life and fostering stronger community ties.

At Manigong in Shi-Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh, the Spearhead Division hosted an interactive programme in which local youth were taken on a guided tour of an Army post to familiarise them with the functioning and operational role of the Indian Army in the border region.
The participants were also treated to a weapon and equipment display, where soldiers explained the capabilities of various military systems and highlighted the importance of discipline, teamwork and national service. Interactive sports and recreational activities were also organised, encouraging meaningful interaction between Army personnel and local youth.
Officials said the initiative was aimed at motivating young people to pursue careers in the armed forces while promoting patriotism, confidence and a better understanding of the Army's role in safeguarding the nation's frontiers.
Simultaneously, the Assam Rifles organised a similar 'A Day with Company Commander' programme at Government High School, Nikheku, in Nagaland, where students participated in interactive sessions, motivational discussions and a series of fun-filled activities with Army personnel.
The programme offered students an opportunity to engage directly with soldiers, learn about life in the armed forces and gain insights into leadership, discipline and career opportunities available in the defence services.
According to officials, the outreach initiatives are part of the Army's sustained efforts to strengthen military-civil synergy, build mutual trust with local communities and encourage greater youth participation in nation-building.
The Indian Army said such programmes not only help bridge the gap between civilians and the armed forces but also inspire young minds through positive engagement, creating lasting bonds of confidence, cooperation and shared responsibility.
