
The Indian Army paid rich tributes today to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives during a Fidayeen terrorist attack on November 3, 1999. A solemn ceremony at the Public Relations Office, Badami Bagh Cantonment, honoured Major P Purushottam, Subedar Brahm Dass Sharma, and four other soldiers who sacrificed their lives defending civilians and journalists present during the attack.
Major Purushottam, serving as Public Relations Officer (Defence), along with his comrades, confronted the terrorists to protect journalists, displaying extraordinary courage and selflessness. Their heroic actions not only saved lives but continue to inspire generations of Indian Army personnel.
The Indian Army reaffirmed its pride and remembrance of these gallant soldiers, acknowledging their supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
