Itanagar, May 22: Spearhead Division under Spear Corps organised an outreach programme titled “A Day with Company Commander” at a forward location in Subansiri Valley, Arunachal Pradesh, aimed at strengthening civil-military bonding and inspiring local youth.
The initiative saw participation from students, teachers, and villagers from nearby areas, who were invited to interact closely with Army personnel and gain insight into the daily functioning of troops deployed in forward regions.
During the programme, the Company Commander and other officers engaged with the participants through motivational sessions focused on discipline, leadership, teamwork, and career opportunities in the armed forces. The interactions were designed to encourage students to pursue constructive goals and develop a sense of national responsibility.
A key highlight of the event was the demonstration of modern military equipment, including drones and new-generation technologies used by the Army for surveillance and operational effectiveness in difficult terrain. Participants were given hands-on exposure to some of the equipment, helping them understand the role of technology in contemporary defence operations.
Various recreational activities and group games were also organised to foster camaraderie and create a friendly environment between soldiers and civilians. Locals appreciated the opportunity to observe military life from close quarters, particularly in a remote and strategically important region.
Army officials stated that such initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to build trust with border communities and promote awareness about the Army’s role in safeguarding remote areas. They emphasised that engagement with youth is essential for strengthening national integration and encouraging constructive development in frontier regions.
The programme concluded with positive interaction between villagers and Army personnel, with both sides expressing commitment to continue such outreach activities in the future to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation.
