Army–ITBP conduct joint exercise in Arunachal

Itanagar, May 23: Spearhead Division under Spear Corps conducted a Table Top Exercise with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to review operational preparedness along the northern borders in Arunachal Pradesh.

The exercise focused on strengthening coordination between the Indian Army and ITBP in border management, rapid response mechanisms, and joint operational planning in high-altitude and sensitive frontier areas.
Senior officers from both organisations participated in detailed discussions on evolving security challenges, communication protocols, intelligence sharing, and coordinated deployment strategies to ensure effective response in contingencies.
The drill reinforced seamless Army–ITBP synergy, with emphasis on improving interoperability, real-time information exchange, and integrated decision-making in border regions.
Officials said such joint exercises are crucial for maintaining high levels of readiness and ensuring that both forces operate in close coordination to safeguard the country’s northern borders under challenging terrain and weather conditions.
The exercise concluded with reaffirmation of continued cooperation between the Indian Army and ITBP to enhance operational effectiveness and border security.
