June 28, 2026 | BK News Service

Khonsa, June 27: Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS), Khonsa is conducting a week-long Summer Camp 2026 from June 22 to June 28 under the theme “National Unity and Tribal Infusion,” bringing together 160 students from the Tirap, Changlang, and Longding (TCL) regions of Arunachal Pradesh. The camp aims to promote leadership, discipline, cultural understanding, and holistic personality development through a blend of outdoor activities, skill-building exercises, and cultural exchange programmes.

The initiative is designed to provide young students with an opportunity to learn beyond classrooms, encouraging teamwork, resilience, and mutual respect among diverse tribal communities. Through structured engagement, the camp seeks to strengthen the spirit of national integration while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Throughout the week, participants have been engaged in a wide range of activities including camping exercises, survival skills training, team-building tasks, adventure-based learning, and cultural performances. These activities are structured to help students develop confidence, adaptability, and problem-solving skills while fostering cooperation and leadership qualities.
Adventure-based learning sessions have introduced students to basic outdoor survival techniques, helping them understand discipline, planning, and resourcefulness in challenging environments. Team-building activities have further encouraged collaboration and trust among participants, reinforcing the importance of unity in diversity.
Cultural programmes form an important part of the camp, where students showcase traditional dances, songs, and customs of various tribal communities from the region. These performances not only preserve cultural identity but also promote appreciation of different traditions, strengthening social harmony among young participants.
A key highlight of the camp was the interaction with the Commander of Headquarters 25 Sector Assam Rifles, who visited the venue and engaged with the students. During the interaction, he encouraged participants to uphold the values of discipline, integrity, and patriotism, emphasizing the importance of becoming responsible citizens and future leaders of the nation.
He appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and commended the efforts of ARPS Khonsa in creating a platform that nurtures both academic and personal growth. The Commander also highlighted the role of youth in shaping a peaceful and progressive society, urging them to stay committed to education and national development.
Teachers and organisers of the camp noted that such initiatives play a crucial role in building confidence among students from remote and tribal areas. By exposing them to structured learning experiences outside the classroom, the camp helps bridge gaps in opportunity and encourages broader social engagement.
The Summer Camp 2026 continues to serve as a platform for fostering leadership qualities, cultural awareness, and national unity among young minds. Through its diverse activities and interactive sessions, the programme aims to instill a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and respect for cultural diversity.
As the camp progresses, participants are expected to gain valuable life skills and memories that will contribute to their personal growth and academic journey, while reinforcing the message of unity, discipline, and collective progress.
