Assam Rafiles celebrated Nurses Day at Dist Hospital Peren

May 17, 2026 | BK News Service

Peren, May 16: The Assam Rifles celebrated International Nurses Day with nurses and hospital staff at the District Hospital, Peren, Nagaland, honouring their dedication, compassion, and selfless service in healthcare delivery.

The event was organised under the global theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies,” and aimed at recognising the critical role played by nurses in strengthening public health systems and ensuring community well-being, particularly in remote and underserved regions.
During the programme, Assam Rifles personnel interacted with nurses, paramedical staff, and hospital administration, acknowledging their continuous efforts in providing round-the-clock care to patients despite limited resources and challenging working conditions.
Officials highlighted that nurses form the backbone of the healthcare system, especially in rural and far-flung areas, where access to advanced medical infrastructure remains limited. Their commitment, they said, plays a vital role in saving lives and improving overall health indicators in the region.
The celebration included a felicitation segment where nurses were appreciated for their service and dedication. The gesture was warmly received by hospital staff, who expressed gratitude for the recognition and support extended by Assam Rifles.
Assam Rifles officials reiterated their commitment to humanitarian values and community welfare initiatives across the North East, stating that such engagements strengthen civil-military cooperation and foster goodwill among local communities.
The event concluded on a positive note, with participants reaffirming the importance of continued collaboration to enhance healthcare delivery and support frontline health workers in their service to society.
