Shimla , April 20: Assam Rifles reaches out to veer nari in Himachal Pradesh in continuation of its outreach efforts, the HQ DGAR Veteran Cell team visited Veer Nari Mrs Sharda Devi, wife of Late Rfn/GD Krishan Chand (20 AssamRifles), at her residence in District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh on 19 April 2026. Rfn Krishan Chand made the supreme sacrifice in 1982 in Nagaland, leaving behind his young family. Despite facing significant hardships, Mrs Sharda Devi displayed remarkable resilience by raising her son and supporting her extended family. Having lost touch with Assam Rifles over the years, she had not completed essential documentation. The outreach team assisted in processing her documents for necessary benefits. She was deeply moved by the visit and expressed heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for reconnecting with her after many years.
