Assam Rifles, Army celebrate Christmas across Northeast

Guwahati, Dec 26: Assam Rifles and Indian Army formations under Spear Corps celebrated Christmas on December 25, 2025, with warmth and enthusiasm across the northeastern states of Tripura, Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur, reinforcing bonds of unity and goodwill with local communities.

The celebrations were organised at Company Operating Bases, IDP camps, orphanages and remote border villages, ensuring that the festive spirit reached even the farthest corners of the region. Special prayers, carol singing and cultural performances marked the occasion, spreading messages of peace, hope and brotherhood among people from diverse backgrounds.
Troops interacted closely with civilians, exchanging greetings, cutting Christmas cakes and distributing gifts and sweets, particularly to children and the underprivileged. These gestures brought smiles to many faces and strengthened trust between the security forces and the local population.
The celebrations reflected the humane and compassionate ethos of Assam Rifles and the Indian Army, highlighting their commitment not only to safeguarding the region but also to nurturing social harmony and community bonding.
