Assam Rifles boosts community infrastructure in Manipur’s Haika village

September 13, 2025 | BK News Service

Chandel, Manipur, Sep 12: In a continued effort to promote development and strengthen civil-military cooperation in remote regions, Assam Rifles has extended vital infrastructural support to Haika Village in Chandel District, Manipur. The force contributed ceiling fans and essential electrical fittings to enhance the facilities at the local Community Hall.

The initiative aims to improve community infrastructure and create a more functional and comfortable space for residents to gather, especially in a region where development often lags due to geographical and logistical challenges.
Haika Village, located in the border district of Chandel, holds strategic importance and is home to diverse ethnic communities. The Assam Rifles' gesture is seen as a confidence-building measure and a tangible step toward improving the quality of life in this remote area.
Locals expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting how the improved facilities will benefit cultural, social, and public events—particularly during hot and humid weather.
A spokesperson for Assam Rifles stated, “Our mission goes beyond security. We are committed to being partners in progress. Supporting community infrastructure like this is part of our broader vision for holistic development in border and tribal areas.”
This intervention is part of Assam Rifles’ larger civic action programme, which regularly includes health camps, educational outreach, youth engagement, and development projects across the northeastern states.
By strengthening grassroots infrastructure and trust among the local population, the Assam Rifles continues to play a key role not only in maintaining peace but also in fostering progress in the North-East.
