Assam Rifles brings healthcare to remote villages in Manipur

September 15, 2025 | BK News Service

Tamenglong & Noney, Sep 14: In a commendable humanitarian effort, the Assam Rifles organized a comprehensive medical camp and first aid training program across the remote villages of Wariangba, Vanchengphai, Namkaolong, and Tamei in the Tamenglong and Noney districts of Manipur.

The initiative was designed to provide essential healthcare services, raise health awareness, and equip villagers with basic first aid skills—a crucial necessity in regions where access to immediate medical care remains a persistent challenge due to poor road connectivity and underdeveloped infrastructure.
The program featured:
Free health check-ups and distribution of essential medicines
First aid training sessions, including CPR and emergency response techniques
Awareness lectures on hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, and disease prevention
A team of medical officers and trained personnel from Assam Rifles conducted the outreach, ensuring each session was interactive and community-focused. Local villagers participated in large numbers, expressing their appreciation for the efforts made to reach these often-overlooked areas.
“We are grateful to Assam Rifles for coming all the way to help us. The medical camp and training have given us knowledge we never had access to before,” said a resident of Namkaolong village.
This initiative not only addressed immediate medical needs but also aimed to build long-term resilience by empowering locals with lifesaving skills and health education.
Such efforts underline Assam Rifles’ commitment to its motto "Sentinels of the North East", working tirelessly not just in safeguarding borders, but also in uplifting remote communities through sustainable civic action programs.
