Shillong, Nov 2: The Assam Rifles hosted a vibrant Cultural Evening at its Headquarters Directorate General in Laitkor, Shillong, as part of the Inspector General’s Conference 2025. The event, titled “Cultural Extravaganza of Our North East,” showcased the region’s rich traditions through music, dance, and artistic performances, highlighting the unity and cultural diversity within the Assam Rifles fraternity.

Air Marshal Surat Singh, AVSM, VM, VSM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Air Command, graced the occasion as a distinguished guest. His presence underscored the strong bond and camaraderie between the Indian Air Force and Assam Rifles, reinforcing their shared commitment to national service.
The evening was marked by performances representing various North Eastern states, offering participants and guests an immersive experience of the region’s heritage and cultural vibrancy. The event also provided an opportunity for personnel to interact, celebrate their traditions, and strengthen inter-service relations.
Organizers emphasized that such cultural initiatives are vital in promoting cohesion, morale, and a sense of belonging among Assam Rifles personnel while celebrating the unique cultural identity of India’s North East.
