Aizawl,: The Assam Rifles under Spear Corps has successfully concluded the 3rd batch of its one-year residential competitive examination coaching programme at the Rifleman Bevela Lushai AC Centre of Excellence in Zokhawsang, Aizawl.
The initiative is part of the force’s sustained effort to support youth empowerment and educational upliftment in the region, particularly by providing structured academic guidance and residential coaching facilities to students aspiring for higher education in medicine and engineering.
This year’s batch comprised 30 students, including 20 girls and 10 boys, reflecting strong participation of female candidates in competitive exam preparation. Out of the total, 24 students appeared for NEET 2026, while 6 students took the JEE 2026 examination, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey towards careers in medicine and engineering.
The one-year programme is designed to provide focused academic training, mentorship, and a disciplined learning environment to students from remote and underserved areas. Along with subject-specific coaching, students also receive guidance on exam strategies, time management, and personality development to enhance their overall readiness for national-level competitive examinations.
Officials noted that the initiative has been instrumental in bridging educational gaps in the region, where access to quality coaching for competitive exams is often limited. The residential nature of the programme ensures continuous academic engagement, while also instilling discipline and confidence among participants.
The Assam Rifles highlighted that such capacity-building initiatives are part of its broader commitment under civic action programmes aimed at promoting education, skill development, and youth empowerment in the Northeast.
With the conclusion of the 3rd batch, the Centre of Excellence at Zokhawsang continues to emerge as an important platform for nurturing academic talent and enabling students from Mizoram and surrounding areas to compete at national-level entrance examinations.
Officials expressed optimism that a significant number of students from the batch will perform well in NEET and JEE, further reinforcing the impact of sustained academic mentorship and structured coaching support provided under the programme.
