Gouripur, May 1: As part of its ongoing outreach initiative, the Assam Rifles conducted a welfare visit to Gouripur in Bhiwani on 30 April 2026, reaffirming its commitment to veterans, families, and the extended Assam Rifles fraternity.

During the visit, the outreach team attended a family function and conveyed greetings and best wishes on behalf of Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of the Assam Rifles, on the occasion of a daughter’s marriage in the family. The gesture was aimed at maintaining close ties with serving and retired personnel and their families.
The team also met Nk (ORL) Harpool Singh Yadav (Retd), an 85-year-old veteran of 3 Assam Rifles, who is currently bedridden. The visiting team assured him and his family of all possible assistance, reiterating the organisation’s continued responsibility towards its veterans and their wellbeing.
Officials highlighted that such outreach activities are part of a sustained effort to ensure welfare support reaches ex-servicemen and Veer Naris at the grassroots level, especially those residing in remote or underserved areas.
Family members expressed deep gratitude for the concern and support extended by the Assam Rifles leadership, acknowledging the force’s continued commitment to caring for its personnel even after retirement.
The visit reflected the organisation’s ethos of lifelong bonding, service, and responsibility towards its extended family, reinforcing trust and emotional connection between the force and its veterans.
