Tengnoupal, Manipur , Sep 16 : In a commendable effort to uplift healthcare awareness in remote areas, the Assam Rifles organized a comprehensive health awareness session at D. Mounnaphai village in the Tengnoupal district of Manipur. The initiative engaged all 85 residents of the village and was carried out with the full participation of a dedicated and professional team of officials and troops from the force.
The event focused on educating the rural population about basic hygiene practices, preventive healthcare, nutritional guidance, and early identification of common diseases. Special emphasis was laid on maternal and child health, sanitation, and vector-borne disease prevention, which are crucial in this region due to limited access to regular medical facilities.
Medical officers and paramedics from the Assam Rifles also conducted interactive sessions, answered health-related queries, and distributed basic medical supplies and hygiene kits to the villagers. The troops ensured the session was both informative and accessible, using local dialects and visuals to maximize understanding among all age groups.
The initiative was widely appreciated by the villagers, who expressed gratitude for the concern and support shown by the Assam Rifles. Local community leaders also acknowledged the sustained efforts of the force in acting not just as security providers, but as partners in community welfare and development.
This health outreach reflects the Assam Rifles' broader mission to not only safeguard the borders but also serve as a bridge of trust between the armed forces and the civilian population, especially in underdeveloped and remote regions of the Northeast.
