Kohima, Mar 10: In Meluri District, Nagaland, the Assam Rifles organized a door-to-door medical check-up programme in Phokhungri Town, providing essential healthcare services to local residents and school children. The initiative aimed to promote preventive health practices and increase awareness about basic healthcare in the community.

The programme was conducted in coordination with the head teacher of the Government High School, the Gaon Bura of Phokhungri Town, and students of the school. Medical personnel from Assam Rifles carried out free medical examinations, covering general health assessments, basic screenings, and guidance on hygiene and preventive care.
Students and local residents benefited from the health check-ups, which also included counseling on nutrition, sanitation, and common illnesses. The door-to-door approach ensured that even those with limited access to healthcare services could receive timely attention.
This initiative reflects Assam Rifles’ commitment to community welfare under Operation Sadbhavana, strengthening ties with local populations while supporting public health in remote and hilly areas of Nagaland.
