Imphal, Mar 29: The Red Shield Division under Spear Corps and Assam Rifles undertook community welfare initiatives across Manipur and Nagaland under Operation Sadbhavana, aimed at strengthening essential services and local development.

In Laikhong village, Imphal East, the Red Shield Division installed solar-powered street lights, improving safety, mobility, and public convenience for residents. Villagers expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the lights would significantly enhance security during night hours and encourage evening activities in the community.
Meanwhile, in Phaipijang, Nagaland, Assam Rifles handed over a fully equipped ambulance to the Pensioner’s Union Dimapur. The vehicle will provide timely medical assistance, emergency transport, and support for healthcare outreach in remote areas, improving access to critical health services for elderly and vulnerable populations.
Officials highlighted that these projects reflect the armed forces’ commitment to fostering goodwill, promoting sustainable development, and strengthening community resilience in the region. Beneficiaries lauded the efforts, emphasizing that such initiatives not only address immediate needs but also contribute to long-term social welfare and quality of life in northeast communities.
