Assam Rifles flags off Eastern Edge Expedition

Shillong, Feb 21 : The Assam Rifles flagged off the Shillong–Silchar leg of “The Eastern Edge Expedition” under Operation Sadbhavana 2025–26, in partnership with Hero MotoCorp, highlighting adventure, resilience, and regional unity in the Northeast.

Before the flag-off, senior Assam Rifles officers addressed the participants, praising the initiative as a platform to promote regional connectivity, adventure tourism, and youth engagement. They emphasized that such expeditions foster endurance, teamwork, and leadership skills, while serving as a bridge between the Armed Forces and local communities.
The event underscores the commitment of Assam Rifles to strengthen civil–military relations, build mutual trust, and inspire youth to engage in constructive and challenging activities. Participants, including local enthusiasts, will traverse key routes connecting Shillong and Silchar, experiencing the diverse terrain and culture of the region.
Officials highlighted that the expedition also aims to showcase the scenic beauty of the Northeast and encourage sustainable tourism, while reinforcing the values of unity, discipline, and shared purpose that define both the Armed Forces and the communities they serve.
