Assam Rifles fosters patriotism through competitions

New Delhi, July 16: As part of the Independence Day Celebrations 2026, the Assam Rifles organised an Essay Competition at Noglo and a Painting Competition at Soha, encouraging young students to express their ideas on patriotism, national unity and India's future through creative and literary pursuits.

The initiatives witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and formed part of the Assam Rifles' ongoing efforts to nurture young talent, promote creativity and strengthen the spirit of nation-building among the youth.
The essay competition attracted 95 students, who shared their thoughts on the significance of India's freedom struggle, the values of national unity and the responsibilities of young citizens in building a stronger nation. Participants highlighted the importance of preserving democratic values, social harmony and contributing positively to the country's development.
The painting competition, based on the theme "India: 1947 vs India: 2047," saw 24 students creatively depict India's remarkable transformation since Independence while presenting their vision of a developed, self-reliant and prosperous India by the centenary year of Independence in 2047.
Through colourful artwork and imaginative concepts, the students portrayed progress in infrastructure, education, technology, defence, environmental conservation and social development, reflecting optimism about India's future.
Officials of the Assam Rifles appreciated the creativity, enthusiasm and patriotic spirit displayed by the participants and encouraged them to continue contributing to society through knowledge, innovation and responsible citizenship.
The events also provided a platform for young minds to showcase their talents while fostering values of discipline, unity and national pride.
The Assam Rifles said such outreach programmes are aimed at strengthening the bond between the force and local communities while inspiring the younger generation to actively participate in the nation's progress.
By organising educational, cultural and creative activities, the force continues to reaffirm its commitment to youth empowerment, character building and nation-building across the region.
