Moreh, Aug 19: In a bid to empower local youth and prepare them for opportunities in the Armed Forces, the Assam Rifles under Spear Corps conducted a comprehensive mock physical and written examination at Moreh in Tengnoupal district of Manipur for aspirants preparing for the upcoming Territorial Army recruitment rally.
The exercise was organised as part of an ongoing guidance and mentoring initiative that has been supporting prospective candidates since April 2026. The programme seeks to familiarise youth with the recruitment process while helping them identify and overcome gaps in physical fitness, written examination preparation and overall readiness.
During the mock recruitment exercise, candidates underwent physical tests designed to assess their endurance, strength and overall fitness. They also appeared for a written test aimed at evaluating their preparedness for the academic component of the recruitment process.
The participating aspirants were subsequently provided individualised feedback, enabling them to understand areas requiring improvement and adopt a more focused preparation strategy ahead of the actual recruitment rally.
The initiative is particularly significant for youth in remote and border areas, where access to structured guidance and professional coaching for Armed Forces recruitment can often be limited. By conducting mock tests and providing continuous mentorship, the Assam Rifles is helping candidates gain familiarity with recruitment standards and build confidence.
Officials involved in the initiative emphasised the importance of discipline, perseverance and sustained physical training in achieving success in Armed Forces recruitment. Candidates were encouraged to maintain regular fitness routines and continue their academic preparation with equal commitment.
The programme also aims to channel the aspirations and energy of local youth towards constructive opportunities, while strengthening their connection with national service.
The Assam Rifles said such initiatives reflect its commitment to youth empowerment, community outreach and nation-building, particularly by creating pathways for talented young people to pursue careers in the Armed Forces.
With the Territorial Army recruitment rally approaching, the mock assessment is expected to give candidates valuable practical exposure and help them approach the selection process with greater confidence, preparedness and determination.
