Imphal, May 21: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organised a Security Coordination Meeting at Chakpikarong and a community outreach programme at Khonglong in Manipur to strengthen peace, communal harmony, and coordinated security efforts in the region.

The coordination meeting brought together representatives of security forces, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), village chiefs, and ex-servicemen to discuss the prevailing security situation and improve inter-agency cooperation. The focus of the discussions remained on maintaining stability, addressing local concerns, and ensuring effective communication between security agencies and community stakeholders.
Officials highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in sustaining peace in sensitive areas and stressed the need for timely information sharing and coordinated action to prevent disturbances. The meeting also served as a platform to strengthen trust between local communities and security forces.
In a parallel initiative, Assam Rifles conducted a community outreach programme at Khonglong, engaging with residents and local leaders. The programme aimed to promote goodwill, strengthen civil-military relations, and encourage community participation in peacebuilding efforts.
Participants appreciated the initiative and expressed support for continued engagement between security forces and local communities to ensure long-term stability and harmony in the region.
The programmes concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment by all stakeholders to work together for peace
