Assam Rifles holds cancer awareness lecture

Tupul,, Feb 4: As part of its ongoing health and community welfare initiatives, Assam Rifles organised an awareness lecture on World Cancer Day at the Community Hall in Tupul, Noney District, Manipur. The event aimed to educate residents about cancer prevention, early detection, and timely medical intervention.

During the session, medical experts highlighted common types of cancer, including breast, cervical, and lung cancer, and explained early warning signs that people should watch for. They also emphasised preventive measures such as healthy diet, regular exercise, avoiding tobacco and alcohol, and undergoing routine screenings.
The lecture stressed the importance of early diagnosis in improving treatment outcomes and survival rates. Attendees were encouraged to consult healthcare professionals promptly if they noticed any unusual symptoms.
Assam Rifles personnel also distributed informative brochures and engaged the community in interactive discussions, answering queries and providing guidance on accessing medical facilities.
Officials said that the initiative was part of the force’s larger effort to promote public health, raise awareness about critical health issues, and foster a culture of preventive care in remote areas. Community members appreciated the program, noting that it provided valuable knowledge and practical tips to protect their health.
