Assam Rifles holds mega medical camp in Tengnoupal

January 10, 2026 | BK News Service

Imphal , Jan 9: Under its Operation Sadbhavna initiative, the Assam Rifles organised a mega specialist medical camp at Tengnoupal High School, aimed at delivering quality healthcare to remote and underserved communities of Tengnoupal District, Manipur.

The medical camp witnessed the participation of a team of specialist doctors from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), who provided comprehensive and free medical consultations across multiple disciplines. These included Ophthalmology, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Dentistry and Orthopaedics, addressing a wide range of health concerns faced by the local population.
Hundreds of residents from surrounding villages benefited from the initiative, many of whom otherwise have limited access to specialist healthcare facilities due to difficult terrain and infrastructural challenges. Patients were examined, diagnosed and advised on treatment, with essential medicines and medical guidance provided on the spot.
The initiative reflects the Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to the welfare of the local population, extending beyond its security role to foster trust, goodwill and social development in the region. Operation Sadbhavna remains a key pillar of the force’s outreach efforts, focusing on healthcare, education and community engagement.
The medical camp was widely appreciated by local residents, who expressed gratitude for the timely and compassionate care. Through such humanitarian initiatives, the Assam Rifles continues to strengthen its bond with the people of Manipur, reinforcing its role as not only a protector of security but also a partner in community well-being.
