Assam Rifles holds mental health awareness session in Nagaland

Chieswema, , Jan 18: The Assam Rifles, in collaboration with a team of doctors from Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh, conducted a Motivation and Mental Health Awareness Session for students at the National Integration and Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO) Centre in Chieswema, Nagaland, on 18 January 2026.

The session was attended by students preparing for competitive examinations, who were provided valuable guidance on maintaining mental well-being during periods of academic pressure. A Psychiatrist from AMCH sensitised students about the importance of mental health, emphasizing strategies for stress management, emotional balance, and developing a positive and resilient mindset.
An Orthopaedician from AMCH also interacted with the students, focusing on the importance of physical health, proper posture, and maintaining an active lifestyle alongside rigorous academic preparation. The doctors engaged the students in interactive discussions, addressing their queries and providing practical tips to handle examination-related stress and anxiety.
During the programme, Assam Rifles personnel highlighted the importance of discipline, perseverance, and self-motivation, linking these values to both academic success and overall personal development. The initiative aimed to ensure that students are equipped not only with knowledge but also with the psychological resilience required to face challenges in their studies and future careers.
The session concluded with a Q&A interaction, where students actively participated, sharing their experiences and receiving personalized advice from the experts.
