Imphal, July 21: Assam Rifles organised a pre-recruitment medical screening camp at Shalluk village in Manipur's Chandel district to help local youth prepare for the upcoming Territorial Army recruitment rallies.

Held on July 20, the initiative witnessed the participation of 30 aspiring candidates, including young men and women, who underwent comprehensive medical examinations under the supervision of the Regimental Medical Officer.
The screening covered vision, hearing, dental, orthopaedic and general health assessments, besides physical measurements required for recruitment. Medical experts also identified areas requiring improvement and advised candidates on corrective measures to enhance their eligibility.
In addition to the medical evaluation, participants received guidance on physical fitness, nutrition and overall health to help them meet the standards prescribed for recruitment into the Territorial Army.
The initiative aimed to familiarise aspirants with the medical requirements of the recruitment process while boosting their confidence and preparedness ahead of the selection rallies.
Village elders and participants appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles, describing the camp as a valuable initiative that motivates local youth to pursue careers in the Armed Forces while strengthening the bond between the security forces and the community.
Officials said such outreach programmes reflect the Assam Rifles' continued commitment to youth empowerment, community development and fostering strong civil-military relations in the region.
