
Dimapur, Sep 9: The Assam Rifles organised a counselling session under its Rubaru initiative at Indisen Garrison, Dimapur, focusing on “Postpartum Depression and Menopause” and the importance of emotional well-being within families.
The interactive session was conducted by Psychology Counsellor Dr Vandini Setia and attended by members of 36 families. The programme aimed to create greater awareness about emotional and psychological challenges associated with postpartum depression and menopause, while encouraging participants to adopt healthy coping mechanisms.
During the session, participants were sensitised to the importance of recognising emotional changes, seeking timely support and maintaining open communication within families. The discussion also highlighted the role of family members in providing understanding, empathy and support during periods of emotional or psychological stress.
The session encouraged participants to approach such concerns without hesitation and emphasised that emotional well-being is an integral part of overall family health.
Special focus was placed on strengthening family support systems and promoting a harmonious home environment. Through interactive discussions, participants were encouraged to share concerns, understand each other’s experiences and develop constructive ways of dealing with challenges.
The Rubaru initiative seeks to provide meaningful engagement and support to families while addressing issues that affect their emotional and social well-being.
