Assam Rifles honors ESM families on Women’s Day

Aizawal, Mar 12: On 7 March 2026, the Assam Rifles organised a special outreach programme in Aizawl, Mizoram, to commemorate International Women’s Day and acknowledge the contributions of families of Ex-Servicemen (ESM). The event brought together 15 Ex-Servicemen, two Veer Naris, and around 80 family members.

The programme included health awareness sessions focusing on women’s health and cancer prevention, delivered by medical specialists. In addition, a dental check-up camp was conducted to provide practical healthcare support to participants.
Officials highlighted that the initiative not only recognised the sacrifices and contributions of women in the veteran community but also reinforced the Assam Rifles’ commitment to the welfare and well-being of its ex-servicemen and their families. Participants appreciated the outreach, noting the importance of such programmes in promoting health awareness and community engagement.
The event reflected Assam Rifles’ broader objective of connecting with veteran families, fostering goodwill, and supporting social and health initiatives in northeast India.
