Assam Rifles honours teachers, supports schools

Pungro, Sep 6: The Assam Rifles celebrated Teachers’ Day on September 5 across several schools in Nagaland, honouring educators for their vital role in shaping young minds and nurturing future generations.

Teachers’ Day programmes were organised at GHSS Pungro, GMS and Christian School Anatongre, ARHS Naginimora, and St. Xavier School Shamator. The celebrations brought together students, teachers and members of the Assam Rifles in an atmosphere of appreciation and community engagement.
Students expressed their gratitude to their teachers through cultural performances and appreciation posters, highlighting the important contribution of educators to their academic and personal development.
As part of the celebrations, sports equipment and stationery items were distributed among students to encourage participation in sports, support education and promote holistic development. The initiative aimed to motivate children to pursue both academic excellence and extracurricular activities.
A student sanitation block was also inaugurated at St. Xavier School, Shamator, with the objective of promoting hygiene, cleanliness and dignity among schoolchildren. The facility is expected to provide students with a safer and healthier learning environment.
The Teachers’ Day celebrations reflected the Assam Rifles’ continued engagement with local communities and its focus on supporting education and youth development. Through such initiatives, the force seeks to encourage students, strengthen educational institutions and contribute to the overall welfare of children in the region.
