Assam Rifles hosts JIMPAL interaction in Shillong

Shillong, Jan 21: As part of the Assam Rifles National Integration Tour under the Civic Action Programme, members of Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (JIMPAL) from Jiribam, Manipur, interacted with Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General Assam Rifles, at HQ DGAR, Laitkor, Shillong, on January 20, 2026.

During the session, participants shared their experiences, perspectives, and aspirations, while gaining valuable insights into the multifaceted role of Assam Rifles in promoting peace, development, and national integration in the region. Lt Gen Lakhera highlighted the importance of community engagement, trust-building, and collaborative initiatives in strengthening social cohesion and regional stability.
The interactive session also offered participants a first-hand understanding of Assam Rifles’ efforts in civic action, disaster relief, and infrastructure development, emphasizing how such programs contribute to national unity.
