Assam Rifles hosts Military–Civil Fusion seminar in Nagaland

Kohima, Sep 11: In a landmark initiative to foster greater coordination between the defence forces and civil administration, the Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) successfully organised the Military–Civil Fusion Seminar 2025 in Kohima, Nagaland from 08 to 10 September 2025.

The three-day seminar, held under the theme of "Synergising for Holistic National Development," featured six interactive sessions focused on enhancing collaboration between various stakeholders including the armed forces, civil authorities, police, media, academia, and development agencies.
Key areas of discussion included:
Youth Empowerment & Skill Development
Healthcare in Remote Regions
Disaster Management & Emergency Preparedness
Internal Security & Intelligence Sharing
Integrated Border Management
Veterans’ Welfare & Perception Building
Eminent speakers from state and central government departments, law enforcement agencies, the Armed Forces, and academic institutions shared their insights, underlining the importance of joint efforts in nation-building, especially in the strategic and sensitive Northeastern region.
Officials stated that the seminar aimed to create actionable roadmaps for improving civil-military cooperation, addressing regional challenges more effectively, and leveraging each sector’s strengths for overall progress.
Participants lauded the Assam Rifles for its continued commitment to peace, development, and integration in the Northeast, and emphasized that platforms like these are critical for shaping unified responses to evolving national challenges.
The seminar concluded with a renewed commitment to mutual trust, transparency, and coordinated action, setting the tone for future collaborations between the armed forces and civil institutions.
