Kishtwar, Nov 2: Assam Rifles commenced a Mega Medical Camp under Operation Sadbhavana at the Advanced Landing Ground (ALG), Kishtwar, on Sunday, providing free healthcare and essential assistive support to residents.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
On the first day, more than 3,000 beneficiaries availed themselves of free specialist consultations, diagnostic services and medicines. The initiative also provided wheelchairs, hearing aids and other assistive devices to people requiring additional support.
The large public response reflected the demand for accessible healthcare services, particularly among people who face difficulties in reaching specialised medical facilities.
Organised under Operation Sadbhavana, the initiative highlights Assam Rifles’ continued engagement with local communities through welfare-oriented activities. By bringing specialist consultations, diagnostic facilities and essential medical support closer to residents, the camp seeks to address healthcare needs while extending assistance to vulnerable sections of society.
The distribution of assistive devices is expected to provide practical support to persons with disabilities and those with hearing and mobility-related difficulties.
The Mega Medical Camp reaffirms Assam Rifles’ commitment to community welfare, humanitarian assistance and strengthening public access to healthcare in the region.
