Kohima, Aug 27: Assam Rifles, under Spear Corps, has strengthened its community welfare and livelihood initiatives with the dedication of a Sewing Machine Centre at Noklak in Nagaland, aimed at promoting skill development, self-reliance and sustainable employment opportunities among local residents.

The initiative is designed to provide women and youth with practical tailoring and sewing skills, enabling them to develop income-generating capabilities and explore avenues of self-employment and entrepreneurship.
The centre is expected to serve as a platform for local beneficiaries to acquire vocational skills that can be translated into sustainable livelihood opportunities. By facilitating access to sewing equipment and skill-based training, the initiative seeks to encourage beneficiaries to become economically independent and contribute to household incomes.
