Silchar, Jan 4: In a bid to inspire the next generation and raise awareness about India’s armed forces, Assam Rifles, under the aegis of #SpearCorps, organized an interactive weapon display at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar, Assam. The event, held on January 4, attracted a participation of around 550 students, teachers, NCC cadets, and their families.

The display provided attendees with a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience of infantry weapons and understand the operational aspects of the armed forces. Personnel of Assam Rifles explained the features, handling, and tactical importance of various arms, while demonstrating safe usage practices.
NCC cadets particularly benefited from the session, gaining practical insights into the discipline, skills, and responsibilities involved in military service. Students and teachers alike expressed enthusiasm over the interactive setup, which combined demonstrations with informative briefings about the life and duties of armed forces personnel.
The initiative aimed not only to familiarize young minds with military equipment but also to inspire interest in defense careers. Organizers emphasized the importance of understanding the role of paramilitary forces like Assam Rifles in safeguarding national security, especially in challenging terrains and sensitive border areas.
Through events like this, Assam Rifles seeks to bridge the gap between civilian youth and the armed forces, nurturing patriotism and encouraging students to consider service as a career. The initiative also showcased the force’s commitment to community engagement and awareness-building.
