Assam Rifles pays tribute to 1962 War Hero in Manipur

Manipur, Oct 28: In a moving tribute to the heroes of the 1962 Indo-China War, the Assam Rifles organised a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at its Battalion Headquarters in Moreh, Tengnoupal District, Manipur, to honour Rifleman (Late) Ratan Lal Salaria, who made the supreme sacrifice defending the nation at Sulula, NEFA (now Arunachal Pradesh).

The ceremony, held on October 26, 2025, was attended by officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, and soldiers of the Assam Rifles, who paid their heartfelt respects to the fallen hero. Wreaths were laid on behalf of the force to acknowledge Rifleman Salaria’s exceptional courage, dedication, and devotion to duty.
Addressing the gathering, the Commanding Officer highlighted the unmatched bravery and sacrifice of Rifleman Ratan Lal Salaria, noting that his courage continues to inspire generations of soldiers who serve with pride under the motto “Friends of the Hill People.”
The event also reaffirmed the Assam Rifles’ unwavering commitment to remembering and honouring the valiant soldiers who gave their lives in the service of the nation.
