Shillong, Dec 12: Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, along with all ranks of the force, paid homage to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty on December 12, 1965.
The solemn occasion marked the anniversary of the sacrifices made by the valiant soldiers during the 1965 operations, reflecting courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the nation. Lt Gen Lakhera led the tribute, emphasizing the enduring legacy of these heroes and the debt owed to them by the country and the armed forces.
Officers and personnel of Assam Rifles observed a moment of silence, laying wreaths at memorials and participating in ceremonial protocols to honor the fallen.
