Assam Rifles pays tribute to 1973 braveheart

Serchhip, Sep 12: The Assam Rifles organised a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Shaurya Sthal, Serchhip, Mizoram, on September 12 to honour Rifleman (Late) Trilok Bahadur Rai, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty 53 years ago.

Rifleman Trilok Bahadur Rai laid down his life at Khuzami in Phek district of Nagaland on September 12, 1973, while serving the nation.
The ceremony was held as a mark of respect and remembrance for the braveheart and to honour his courage, dedication and ultimate sacrifice in the service of the country.
Personnel of the Assam Rifles paid floral tribute at the memorial, remembering the fallen soldier whose sacrifice remains an enduring part of the force’s proud legacy.
The solemn observance also highlighted the Assam Rifles’ tradition of remembering its fallen comrades and keeping alive the values of courage, duty and selfless service.
The wreath-laying ceremony served as a poignant reminder that the sacrifices of soldiers who gave their lives in the line of duty continue to inspire generations.
The force reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the memory of its fallen personnel and honouring their contributions to the nation.
