Aizawl, Dec 24 : Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, along with all ranks of the force, solemnly paid tribute to a valiant soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty on December 24, 1955.

The ceremony, marked by a guard of honor and solemn salutes, reflected the deep respect and gratitude of the Assam Rifles towards its brave personnel who lay down their lives in service to the nation. Lt Gen Lakhera highlighted the enduring legacy of the fallen soldier, emphasizing that their courage continues to inspire generations of soldiers.
All ranks participated in the event with reverence, laying wreaths and observing a moment of silence. The tribute served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the armed forces to safeguard the country’s peace and security.
The Director General also addressed the personnel, reinforcing the values of duty, honor, and selfless service, which remain the cornerstone of Assam Rifles’ ethos.
