Kohima, Dec 19: A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Assam Rifles War Memorial in Kohima to honour the bravery and sacrifice of Naik (Late) R B Chhetri, Kirti Chakra (Posthumous), Naik (Late) N S Dogra, and Lance Naik (Late) Kalyan Singh. The three soldiers laid down their lives while fighting insurgents in Mon District on 18 December 1980.

The ceremony saw participation from serving personnel of Assam Rifles, veterans, and dignitaries who paid their respects and remembered the valour of the fallen heroes. The event highlighted the enduring legacy of courage and dedication displayed by Assam Rifles personnel in the line of duty.
Through the solemn observance, the regiment reaffirmed its commitment to honour and preserve the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation, inspiring the current and future generations of soldiers to uphold the highest standards of bravery and service.
