Jammu, Nov 5: The Assam Rifles organized a solemn Wreath Laying Ceremony at Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir, to honor the brave personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

The ceremony paid homage to Maj Sumer Singh, SM (Posthumous), who laid down his life on 4 November 1963 in Deni, Arunachal Pradesh, and L Nk Rajbir Singh, Rfn Julios Bhagra, Rfn Prem Lal, and Rfn Debasis Ray, who were martyred on 4 November 1994 during deployment in Natjang, Manipur.
During the event, senior officers and personnel of the Assam Rifles offered floral tributes and observed a moment of silence to commemorate the valor and dedication of the fallen soldiers. The ceremony underscored the regiment’s commitment to remembering its heroes and inspiring future generations with their legacy of courage and sacrifice.
An Assam Rifles spokesperson stated, “The Wreath Laying Ceremony is a solemn reminder of the bravery, selflessness, and unwavering commitment of our martyrs who laid down their lives in service of the nation.”
The event concluded with prayers and tributes, reinforcing the regiment’s enduring respect for its fallen personnel and their families.
