Assam Rifles pays tribute to NS agat Singh in Nagaland

Kiphire, Nagaland, Sep 13: Assam Rifles on Friday observed the 29th death anniversary of Naib Subedar (Late) Jagat Singh with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Battalion War Memorial in Kiphire, Nagaland.

Naib Subedar Jagat Singh laid down his life in the line of duty while combating insurgency in the region, exemplifying the highest standards of bravery and sacrifice. On this occasion, personnel from the 185 Assam Rifles across all ranks gathered to honour his memory and pay rich tributes to his valour.
The ceremony included the laying of wreaths by senior officers and troops, followed by a moment of silence to remember the fallen hero. The unit reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the legacy of courage and dedication that Naib Subedar Jagat Singh symbolized.
Speaking on the sidelines, officers highlighted the importance of remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for national security, especially in challenging terrains like Nagaland where the armed forces continue to play a critical role in maintaining peace and stability.
The tribute served not only as a reminder of individual sacrifice but also of the collective commitment of the Assam Rifles in the ongoing efforts to secure the northeastern borders and counter insurgency threats.
