Assam Rifles promote agriculture, education in Manipur

Imphal, Mar 10: Under OperationSadbhavana, AssamRifles under #SpearCorps conducted key community development initiatives in #Manipur, focusing on agriculture and education.

In Longja Village, Chandel District, an awareness programme on Slope Agricultural Land Techniques was organized. Local farmers were trained on soil conservation, terracing, and sustainable farming methods suitable for hilly terrains. The session emphasized improving crop yield, preventing soil erosion, and adopting eco-friendly practices to enhance food security and livelihood opportunities in the region.
Meanwhile, in Kangpokpi District, a Library Upgradation Programme was carried out. The initiative included the addition of new books, digital resources, and improved reading facilities to encourage learning among students and community members. The upgraded library aims to foster education, literacy, and knowledge-sharing in the district.
These programmes reflect the Assam Rifles’ commitment under Operation Sadbhavana to strengthen community development, empower local populations, and promote sustainable growth alongside their security responsibilities in the region. Local residents welcomed the initiatives, highlighting their practical benefits for education and agriculture.
