Assam Rifles promotes literacy among Champhai students

Champhai, Sep 10: Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Spear Corps, organised an awareness lecture on International Literacy Day for students and teachers of Agape School in Champhai, highlighting the importance of education in empowering communities and strengthening nation-building.
The awareness programme focused on literacy and education as fundamental rights and essential pillars of an informed, responsible and progressive society. The session also highlighted the transformative role of education in expanding opportunities, improving social awareness and enabling individuals to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
During the interaction, Assam Rifles personnel encouraged students to recognise education not merely as a means of academic achievement but as a tool for personal development, social empowerment and nation-building. The participants were also sensitised to the importance of developing a culture of learning, curiosity and continuous knowledge acquisition.
Students and teachers actively participated in the programme and engaged in meaningful discussions on the importance of literacy and access to quality education. The interactive session provided an opportunity for participants to share their views and reflect on the role that education can play in creating a knowledgeable, empowered and responsible society.
The initiative underscored Assam Rifles’ continued efforts to engage with local communities through educational and awareness programmes.
