June 08, 2026 | BK News Service

Tengnoupal , June 7: In the run-up to the 12th International Day of Yoga, Assam Rifles organised a special yoga awareness and wellness programme at the serene border village of Kwatha in Tengnoupal district, bringing together local youth for a morning dedicated to health, mindfulness and holistic well-being.

The initiative turned the quiet village morning into an atmosphere of enthusiasm and positive energy as participants were introduced to the fundamentals and benefits of yoga. Trained personnel guided the youth through basic yoga postures, breathing techniques and relaxation exercises aimed at improving physical fitness, mental resilience and emotional balance.
The programme highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life as a preventive health practice, especially for young people living in remote and border areas where access to wellness infrastructure is limited.
Officials stated that the initiative is part of Assam Rifles’ sustained efforts to promote a culture of healthy living and overall well-being among local communities. By engaging youth in such activities, the force aims to encourage discipline, self-awareness and a balanced lifestyle.
Locals appreciated the outreach, noting that such initiatives not only promote physical health but also foster a sense of positivity and community engagement in the region.
The event concluded with a collective message encouraging participants to adopt yoga as a lifelong practice for better health and inner harmony.
