Assam Rifles provides medical aid in Manipur village

May 19, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Tengnoupal, Manipur, May 18: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps provided timely emergency medical assistance to a resident of Kwatha village in Tengnoupal district of Manipur, who sustained injuries while working in the fields.
Officials said the individual was injured during routine farming activity in the remote border village and required immediate medical attention. Troops of Assam Rifles responded promptly, providing first aid on the spot before ensuring further necessary care.
The injured person was stabilised and given initial treatment by the Assam Rifles medical team, reflecting the force’s rapid response capability in remote and difficult terrain where access to healthcare facilities is often limited.
The initiative once again highlights the Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to humanitarian assistance and its role beyond security duties, particularly in supporting local communities residing in far-flung border areas of the North East.
The force has been consistently involved in providing medical aid, disaster response, and civic assistance in difficult-to-reach regions, strengthening trust and coordination with local populations.
