Thoubal, Sep 24: Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, in coordination with Manipur Police, conducted a joint search operation in Thoubal district and recovered seven weapons, ammunition and other war-like stores.

The operation was launched following intelligence regarding the presence of arms and other military-related stores in the area. Security personnel carried out a detailed search of the suspected location, leading to the recovery of the weapons and associated items.
The recovered material has been taken into custody by the security forces, and further investigation is underway to establish its source and intended use.
The joint operation highlighted the importance of coordinated intelligence-sharing and cooperation between the security forces and state police in countering the circulation and concealment of arms in vulnerable areas.
