Lekhapani,, Oct 20: The Assam Rifles conducted a high-level security coordination meeting at Lekhapani to review the preparedness in South Arunachal Pradesh ahead of the forthcoming Zilla Parishad elections.

The meeting focused on sensitive areas, historical threats posed by insurgent groups, and the need for comprehensive planning to ensure safe and peaceful polling. Emphasis was laid on real-time intelligence sharing, rapid joint response mechanisms, and inter-agency coordination to maintain law and order.
Chaired by the DIG of Assam Rifles, the meeting was attended by senior officials from the Police, Civil Administration, CRPF, and other law enforcement agencies. The participants reiterated their unified commitment to ensure elections are conducted smoothly, free from disruptions, and in a secure environment for voters and officials alike.
Authorities highlighted that proactive planning and vigilant monitoring of vulnerable locations are key to maintaining peace during the electoral process.
