Imphal, July 20: A four-year-old boy was rescued from the brink of death after personnel of the Assam Rifles acted swiftly to provide life-saving emergency medical care following a drowning incident in Kangkap, Churachandpur district of Manipur.

According to officials, the child was brought to the Assam Rifles base in an unconscious state after reportedly drowning. Realising the critical nature of the situation, the medical team immediately initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and administered emergency treatment.
The prompt intervention helped revive and stabilise the child, whose condition had become critical due to the incident. After administering first aid and ensuring he was out of immediate danger, the medical team referred him to a specialised healthcare facility for advanced treatment and further observation.
Officials said the timely response of the Assam Rifles medical personnel proved crucial in saving the young boy's life.
The incident has drawn appreciation from local residents, who praised the professionalism and humanitarian commitment displayed by the security force in responding to the medical emergency.
