
Kohima, Feb 5: Assam Rifles Public School, Phek, and Assam Rifles High School, Naginimora, have been adjudged first in the Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Ratings (SHVR) 2025–26 under Category I and Category II (Urban Area) respectively. The initiative, conducted by the Government of Nagaland, aims to encourage cleanliness, environmental sustainability, and the adoption of green practices in schools across the state.
The felicitation ceremony was held at Kohima on February 3, 2026, where the Principals of both institutions formally received the awards on behalf of their schools. The recognition highlights the schools’ consistent efforts in maintaining hygiene, promoting waste management, implementing eco-friendly initiatives, and engaging students in environmental awareness activities.
Officials from the Education Department of Nagaland lauded the Assam Rifles schools for their exemplary performance, noting that they serve as benchmarks for other institutions in implementing sustainable practices. Activities such as plantation drives, water conservation measures, cleanliness drives, and energy-saving initiatives contributed to their top ranking in the SHVR assessment.
